Blakeney Tower WindmillBlakeney Tower Windmill is situated on Friar Farm to the eastern side of Blakeney. I was built in 1769. The windmil is owned and maintained by the National Trust Tower Windmillis thirty two feet tall with four floors. When in usem the windmill was powered by common sails and a tailpole The style of the builsing is not usual for its time with the doors and windows having Gothic arches which may have been additions in the 1800's when a considerbel amount of re-building was carried out. At this time, various other features were added, including double shuttered sails were installed. The top of the windmill was also capped with a dome and finial. |
